Celebrities make women's hosiery focus of outfit
Women's hosiery looks to be the style staple for every fashion-followers wardrobe this season if they wish to stay on trend.
Over the past few weeks, celebrities both in the UK and across the pond in the US have been making a statement by using women's hosiery to add an eye-catching twist to their outfits.
Whether they opt for black tights which feature a slogan, non-coloured sheer tights or super-sexy hold ups, celebs certainly know how to pack a punch with women's hosiery
In recent months, a number of famous faces have proven that women's hosiery can make a stylish impact all on its own, rather than simply being used to keep the legs warm.
The Daily Mail reported in mid-January that R&B star Rihanna had been snapped wearing a pair of opaque black tights with holes running down the outside of each leg.
And the singer clearly felt the black tights were stylish enough not to be covered up, as she wore the garment like trousers, teamed with a long white T-shirt and a black leather waistcoat.
Meanwhile, super-slimmer and newly single Hannah Waterman also recently stepped out in a pair of ultra stylish tights, according to the newspaper.
The former Eastender was pictured taking a stroll with Letitia Dean - who also starred in the BBC1 show - wearing a pair of sheer tights covered in a pink floral design.
Hannah used the women's hosiery to add a splash of colour to her otherwise all-black outfit.
While patterned tights have proven popular for some time, many celebrities have taken their women's hosiery to a new level.
At the recent Grammy Awards, Lady Gaga hit the red carpet in a unique purple Giorgio Armani frock, which she teamed with a pair of sheer tights embellished with swarovski crystals and a pair of matching crystal-covered platform heels.
Meanwhile, Fearne Cotton allowed her black tights to do the talking when she attended the shortlist party for this year's Brit Awards.
Now magazine reports the presenter stepped out in a pair of black sheer tights reading Wanna Party on the bag of the leg by Pretty Polly and House of Holland.
However, while these stars have all got it right when it comes to women's hosiery, The Sun recently reported that Sugababe Jade Ewen was not so successful.
Reporting on a recent charity show in London, the newspaper stated: "Leggy new girl Jade Ewen must have picked up the wrong tights - the ones she wore were clearly a couple of sizes too big, ballooning at the knees."
So it seems women's hosiery are here to stay on the fashion stakes - as long as they are the right size.
