Tights 'are sexy'
While spring looks set to be on the way, there is still a chill in the air, with snow continuing to fall sporadically in some parts of the country.
At this transitional time of year, it can be difficult to know what to put on in the morning, but a number of fashion writers have come up with some stylish and practical suggestions - with one of the main being to invest in women's hosiery.
Indeed, as winter turns into spring, ladies are likely to find no outfit is complete without either a pair of black tights or sheer tights to keep their pins warm.
Writing for the Minaret Online, Daniella Fusari says that as a woman living in Florida, she never expected she was going to have to spend much time building up a winter fashion wardrobe, but that the recent spell of cold weather has made her think again.
Speaking of the fashion staples when the temperature plummets, she advises women's hosiery is one item which is a must.
"Tights - If you want to continue wearing your short dresses, I suggest buying a good pair of tights to keep your legs warm.
"Tights with a dress are still sexy; you don’t need to show off your bare legs to look good."
And women looking for the perfect dress to wear with their tights and stay on-trend into the spring may wish to consider denim.
The Daily Mail recently reported ladies can create the perfect rock chic look by teaming a mini dress in distressed denim with a pair of black tights and ankle boots. The outfit can then be glammed up with a structured blazer - which, along with the black tights, could also see women staying warm whatever the weather throws at them.
To really get a winter fashion wardrobe wrapped up, women's hosiery should be a priority purchase, another fashion writer has claimed.
In an article for the Sydney Morning Herald, Kellie Hush says tights are one of the garments which really count this season.
She adds that opaque black tights are always a safe option, but other women's hosiery - such as coloured or patterned women's hosiery - can also make a statement.
Ms Hush explains patterns and muted colours will be popular this year, while wool is also a "hot look".
And if even the Aussies think it is cold enough to stock up on women's hosiery, then there should be nothing holding Brit girls back from pulling on some warm and stylish black tights in the morning.
