Cheap tricks aplenty for stockings in the home
Published: 30th April 2010
Many people may be surprisingly wasteful with their clothing, considering one piece has just highlighted how many applications unused or beaten-up fabric could have in the home.
Mrs Fixit of DIY Life - very unlikely to be her real name - explained that taking a pair of hosiery with a ladder down the side and putting it to good use is very easy.
She said: "Cut one of the legs off and slip it over a regular paint roller on an extension handle. Then, use it to reach those high spots that are so tricky, like ceilings and high mouldings where cobwebs like to hide."
Additionally, if a paint roller can contour to the curves in the surface you are cleaning, the clingy texture of the nylons will be able to grab should you put it on and afterwards, the individual can simply peel the hosiery off of the roller.
Recently, the Monster Raving Loony Party proposed that socks by produced in packs of three, so if a sock is lost, there's still a perfectly good pair left.
