Brits spend £71 a month online

Brits spend £71 a month online
Brits are spending more money than ever online, according to new research.

The average British shopper now spends an average of £71 online, on everything from books and mobile phones to socks and leggings, according to market research from eCommera.

Over four in ten (42.6 per cent) Brits now purchase something online at least once a week, the survey of 2,000 UK consumers found.

Price was the main motivator for shopping online for 60 per cent of respondents, while over half (51 per cent) consider the convenience of having items delivered as a good reason to order items from the internet.

Meanwhile, websites with poor images and product information were regarded as the most likely put people off buying from a particular retailer.

The research also backed up findings made by a comScore study that showed many shoppers look in store before buying online.
