Silver socks serve as 'super de-stresser'
Published: 23rd August 2010
Using silver fibre in footwear can help de-stress consumers, in addition to helping relieve the ailments for a number of chronic conditions, it has been suggested.
Turkish businessman Ali Tasevli is currently developing socks made using silver yarn, which he claims offer a number of health benefits.
Speaking to the Hurriyet Daily News, he explained how the material works like "a lightning rod for negative energy that accumulates in the human body".
He added: "Exactly like the lightning rods, silver socks encapsulate all negative energy.
"All the nerves in the human body are connected in the feet and that was our star point then we devised the project and prepared to produce the socks."
The icing on the cake for the success of Mr Tasevli may well include incorporating silver yarn into organic socks, which are becoming increasingly desirable among consumers.
Earlier this month, Fairtrade Foundation business development manager Vanessa Brain suggested that Fairtrade cotton has seen incredible growth in the UK alone since its launch five years ago.
