Some leggings style tips revealed
Published: 23rd August 2010
The popularisation of certain kinds of leg wear by celebrities does not mean that people should ignore certain style conventions.
Style guru Jenny Elig recently listed a few tips for women still unsure about the best way to wear leggings without overstepping that fine line between high fashion and clothing failure.
She urged women to look out for alternatives to plain black leggings in an article for the Indianapolis Star.
However, Elig also noted that the choice of pattern should be made carefully, based on someone's particular body shape.
She noted: "If you're bottom heavy, remember that patterns will call attention to your hips and thighs.
"Unless you are extremely svelte, snakeskin leggings will make you look like a python that's enjoyed a nice, big meal."
However, pregnant women may wish to combine leggings with stockings or tights, in order to relieve pain over long journeys.
Earlier this month, the Hindustan Times recommended that women lie down when they pull on their stockings, adding that they should be kept on all day to appreciate the full benefits when pregnant.
