Stockings advised for pregnant women

Stockings advised for pregnant women
Pregnant women can find travelling a pain, especially on long journeys, but some advice on what to wear to make things more comfortable has been given.

Expectant mothers should wear stockings when travelling, the Hindustan Times suggests.

It advises women to wear support hosiery, such as control tights, suggesting that they should be worn all day.

"You should put on stockings before you get out of bed and keep them on all day. Lie on your back as you pull them on," the newspaper said.

It also suggested that pregnant women should pick the right shoe to wear while travelling and sit near to a toilet.

In addition, women are advised to take short walks to improve circulation.

The advice comes shortly after the British Cardiovascular Society recommended wearing flight socks if you have a high risk of developing deep vein thrombosis.
