Sometimes, those who you always considered to be fashionable then turn out to be anything but on a single occasion, undermining the appeal they once had.
One woman in danger of doing that sooner or later is Kate Beckinsale who, in her infinite wisdom, decided to commit a massive fashion tragedy when out on the streets of Los Angeles to do some Christmas shopping, despite wearing funky opaque tights.
The Underworld star paired them with some white stiletto heels, completely off-setting an outfit which until then was relatively flawless.
It didn't help that the rest of her outfit was either grey or black, including a very in-vogue leather biker jacket and a miniskirt.
Many people may not know that Kate is the daughter of legendary comedy actor Richard Beckinsale, who starred as Lennie Godber in Porridge alongside Ronnie Barker and as Alan Moore in Rising Damp before dying at the age of 31 of a heart attack in his sleep.
