Patterned tights 'perfect for office style'
Published: 14th December 2009
Patterned tights are something women simply need in their wardrobes this season, as temperatures start to drop and the need to look fashionable is still as necessary as usual, particularly in the office.
Such is the view of Amy Verner of the Globe and Mail, who said that while she always hated tights as a young girl and, by extension, winter in general, though recent events have changed her mind completely.
That's because they're now all over the catwalks and huge designers such as Alexander McQueen and Marc Jacobs are promoting them alongside their lines, though regular online and high street offerings are mimicking the look very well indeed.
Commenting on wearing them during day-to-day money earning, she said: "For a work ensemble, high statement hosiery needs to be offset by classic pieces. So if you're going out on a limb with a snakeskin-type print ... make sure to keep everything else basic black."
Last week, while Lily Allen was praised for her use of two-tone tights on stage in Liverpool, Britney Spears was slammed for her use of white socks with heels by the Daily Mail, who said she crossed one fashion boundary too far.
