Sprucing up a winter wardrobe 'needs tights'
Published: 01st December 2009
Sometimes, a little bit of money goes a long way in the world of fashion, it is believed.
Ellen Warren, a fashion expert for the Chicago Tribune, said that people want to look "fashionably great" at all times, yet rarely have the cash during this time for longer-term investments.
Commenting on the short-term nature of her quest, Ellen Warren said: "I wasn't looking for the kind of quality that you can pass on to your grandchildren. The idea was to find frugal fashionable fixes for fall that you could enjoy for a while, then move on to the next trend."
By buying a simple sweater tunic and pairing it with textured or patterned tights - the first style in her list of tips - Ms Warren believes women will be effortlessly stylish, with the cheapness of legwear undoubtedly appealing to most women with tighter purse strings.
Last month, Liz Jones of the Daily Mail said that slouchy socks can be a great alternative to tights, especially when wearing chunkier shoes or clogs.
