Fall 2010: 'Tights, tights, tights'
Published: 24th February 2010
New York City's fashion week, which took place from February 11th to the 18th, showcased the 2010 fall and winter ready-to-wear collections from some of the world's premier designers.
And one writer has noticed that among collections including those from Michael Kors, Diane von Furstenburg and Rodarte, there were certainly a number of common themes.
Treena Nicole Fischer of the Daily Cardinal said that the ready-to-wear trends saw three colour schemes in particular: "black, neutral and bright-hued neutral".
Yet it was hosiery in particular that impressed the masses, however, with Miss Fischer adding: "The overall trend report next fall: go with a vibrant base tempered by soft textures in cool shades, experiment with layering different lengths and patterns, and tights, tights, tights."
Floral patterns and leather belts will also make a "sweet accent" in any season, she continued.
Women should accessorise their high heels with socks if they are to look their best this season, according to the Omaha World-Herald's Josefina Loza.
