Fashion catwalks are showing hosiery to be 'top choice'
Clothing for the legs has become part of society and attraction in general, with one writer explaining that the allure of such offerings stems from popular culture in the 1980s.

Justine Picardie of the Daily Telegraph asserted that Alexa Chung's insistence on showcasing grey tights on the catwalk at this month's Chanel spring 2010 couture show stems back to the fashion of the decade before last.

Ms Picardie said: "I am of the generation of girls raised to believe that all boys liked black stockings and suspender belts, only to discover that several had been indelibly marked by seeing Jennifer Beals in Flashdance, and were therefore obsessed with leg-warmers."

She added that this broadening of woollen hosiery's "sexual allure" has carried over to now, with the 1980s aesthetic still proving popular among many people.

Tights that weren't too flattering for one star were the bright blue ones which Pierce Brosnan, playing Chiron the Centaur in the new Percy Jackson film, had to wear in order to allow CGI experts to give him a horse's rear end.
