First holiday can ruin relationship 'via socks and sandals'

Most people look forward to their first holiday with their loved one, when they get the chance to get away from everyone and spend some quality one-on-one time with each other.
Yet many relationships will end within the first vacation, either during or after the time spent in the wonderful location, according to a recent article in the Independent.
It cited a study carried out by sunshine.co.uk which found that a whopping one-quarter of romances will flag during or shortly after the break together, and for a remarkable amount of reasons: with socks perhaps being one of them.
Yes, that's right, the socks and sandals curse can haunt many fashion-backward individuals, as can the enforced time in each other's company and any roving eyes or misplaced flirting.
Sometimes, fashion can cause outrage: earlier this month, fun socks worn by paramedics working for the North West Ambulance Service were banned by NHS bosses who classed them as unprofessional.
