Freezing tights and high spandex content 'makes hosiery last'
Women wanting to save money on tights may want to follow the advice of one money saving expert.

Giving its advice to the masses, Coupon Sherpa, in a piece for the News Tribune, explained that by sticking tights or other hosiery in the freezer overnight upon purchase, people can save them for a little longer as it increases their longevity.

It continued: "In the morning, let them warm up and give them a good all-over spraying of aerosol hairspray. You only need do this when they are new and it helps your nylons resist snags and runs."

A higher spandex content can also make tights and leggings more comfortable and flexible, it was added, and extends the lifespan of hosiery as it will be more resistant to snags.

Kylie Minogue was recently criticised for her legwear, when the singer stepped out in tights that had metal plates over the knees and shins, making her look akin to a Cylon from the original series of Battlestar Galactica.
