Nicola Roberts steps out in strange socks

Nicola Roberts, known by many as the pale red-haired beauty from Girls Aloud, has stepped out in the public eye wearing one of her strangest items of clothing yet: sheer pop socks.
The singer, who has attracted many people to her presence by her approach to the cameras - often embracing any number of extremes in colour, style and contrast - wore an elegant dress covered with a black biker jacket.
However, the Daily Mail were quick to jump on her back over her choice of legwear, with the socks stopping just below the knee with a thick black border.
Admittedly, the socks were not the nicest to show off Nicola's legs, which looked whiter and less smooth than usual when compared to the rest of her outfit.
Nicola used to be a major fan of sun beds and fake tanning, although she is heading a BBC3 documentary, The Truth About Tanning, to highlight the dangers of going to such lengths to look good.
