Tom Brady waxes lyrical about new socks
Superstar quarterback Tom Brady is reportedly a huge fan of new footwear, according to some tidbits of information dug up by ESPN.
Before hitting the big time Tom played as a backup at the University of Michigan and discussed what he would do if he ever became a top player.
Talking to his friend Aaron Shea he said: "If I hit it real big I want to be able to wake up, put a pair of socks on, and at the end of the day, I throw 'em away."
When questioned if that was all he wanted should he become rich, Tom replied: "Yeah, that's what I want. I love new socks."
The Patriots player is sure to be able to buy a lot of legwear now that he is earning $18 million (£11.36 million) a year.
Tom Brady can be seen in this year's Super Bowl against the New York Giants on Sunday (February 5th).

A psychologist from the US has started an online campaign for retailers to offer more variation on skin-coloured undergarments.
Los Angeles-based African American Tara Raines is looking for more diversity in women's underwear so that skin-coloured bras can better match the range of skin tones in the country.
Her campaign, entitled "What's Your Nude?", hit Facebook this week and urged women to contact shops to demand more products catering for darker skin tones in their new and existing underwear collections.
Earlier this month Ms Raines told WWD that she has spent years searching for nude underwear between the traditional flesh-colour and black shades.
"Women of colour have tremendous spending power in the US and it's absurd to think that in 2012 we are essentially disenfranchised when we shop for lingerie," she said, before revealing that many of her family and friends have resorted to dying store-bought bras.

South Korean activists send sock filled balloons over the border
Activists in South Korea have sent huge gas-filled balloons filled over the border into North Korea, AFP reports.
Each of the balloons was filled with socks and were sent to help impoverished residents to survive the harsh winters or to be exchanged or sold for food.
Around 1,000 pairs of socks were sent in five large plastic balloons from the city of Paju on Saturday January 28th, with each containing a leaflet explaining the act.
"We're not interested in sending political messages or sparking any troubles there. All we want is that people in the North wear warm socks over their frozen feet," a spokeswoman for North Korea Peace told the news agency.
She explained that socks and many other daily necessities are in short supply in North Korea and the rarity of this form of legwear means that one pair could be traded for enough corn to feed a person for a month.

Amnesty International has launched an appeal for socks to give to Mexican migrants making journeys across Central America.
The charity is asking for people to donate this humble piece of clothing, which was highlighted as the item Mexicans would most like to take with them were they forced to leave their country.
Although answers to the survey were mixed, Amnesty International found that socks were often favoured to more valuable possessions, which migrants expect will be stolen off them on their journey, or increase their chances of kidnap.

Skier causes plastic underwear dispute
A dispute has begun in the International Ski Federation (FIS) as to what athletes should and shouldn't be allowed to wear under their race suits.
Gian Franco Kasper, president of the FIS, has called for the rules to be clarified after Tina Maze wore one-piece long underwear made from plastic.
Mr Kasper said: "We have to change our rules. It has to be made very clear - if (underwear) is plastified, it is forbidden."
Tina's under garment choice has sparked controversy after the Swiss ski federation complained that the Slovenian racer gained an aerodynamic advantage by wearing it.
The FIS has since confiscated her underwear, however it confirmed that the clothing had passed permeability tests.
Racers have since been recommended not to wear such clothing as its plastic parts could prevent the body from breathing while competing.
