Re-wearing clothes is 'chic'
Published: 27th July 2009
A number of items in the legwear world may be much more desirable in the current climate and trends in the style sector, according to one expert.
Nicole Smallwood, the fashion market editor at Marie Claire, explained it is understandable that celebrities are turning to older or well-used items of clothing instead of worrying over being spotted in the same outfit more than once.
Commenting on the likes of leggings and tights, which are seen as leading accessories for the current market, the expert explained: "I think it's a considered purchase now rather than an impulse buy.
"It's all about thinking how you are going to wear this item, can it be trans-seasonal and can you wear it in spring/summer/autumn/winter and 'am I going to get a lot of use out of it?'"
Originating in France, Marie Claire prints editions in 29 countries and embraces fashion trends seen everywhere from the catwalk to the high street.
