Summer tights should be nude, fashion experts advise
Published: 10th July 2009
Not all women have the multimillion-dollar legs of Tina Turner and instead prefer to keep their pins under wraps.
But as the weather hots up they can still wear tights, stay cool and look fashionable, image consultants Deborah Boland and JoJami Tyler state.
The Fabulous After 40 fashion experts urge women to avoid tights that make their legs look like "shiny brown cinnamon sticks" and instead invest in the sheerest nude pair they can find.
Nude fishnets are ideal for giving legs colour and coverage as well as a subtle and modern look, the duo add.
However, they also warn ladies not to combine tights and sandals, suggesting instead toeless hosiery for open toe shoes.
Women who have their legs on show for the first time in months this summer should also ensure they use adequate sunscreen to protect against UV rays.
