Ankle socks ' a summer staple'

Ankle socks are a "summer staple", according to one fashion enthusiast who claims that they add interest to skirt and sandals combinations.
Writing for My Fashion Life, Katie Smail notes that pretty, lacy ankle socks teamed with summer shoes and "scruffy layering" are an ideal summer look, adding that it is best to avoid looking "too pristine and co-ordinating".
Ms Smail continues to say that while the look is very high-fashion and has been incorporated into designer Zac Posen's resort collection it reminds women of their schooldays and makes them feel carefree.
