Kapoor statue 'resembles tights'

Kapoor statue 'resembles tights'
A new 164 ft statue in Middlesbrough by the sculptor Anish Kapoor has raised a few eyebrows after similarities with certain items of clothing were noticed.

The Times described the work, called Temenos, as like a very big pair of fishnet tights stretched between two very big rings.

The statue, which is 360 ft wide, will be joined by four more gigantic works at a total cost of around £15 million, according to the paper.

"All sculptors have their idiosyncrasies. Kapoor's is a proclivity for gigantism," said the newspaper.

Perhaps the sculptor had the likes of Lady Gaga on his mind when designing the gigantic series of hoops.

The singer has ruffled a few feathers with her antics after she attended a baseball game in New York in little more than a studded bra and fishnet stockings.
