Rocky Horror stockings craze
Published: 25th June 2010
The Rocky Horror Picture Show, the much-loved rock musical created by Richard O'Brien, is heading to Aberdeen for a run of shows at the granite city's Her Majesty's Theatre.
Headlining the event is Scottish actor Gerard Kelly, former star of classic Scots sitcom City Lights, who told the Press and Journal that it is not unusual to see men and women dressing up in stockings to see the show.
He told the paper that he went to see show a couple of weeks ago in order to familiarise himself with his role as The Narrator.
"All of these 50-year old blokes sat down in front of me with stockings and pearl necklaces on, and one of them turned round to me and said 'are you feeling underdressed?', which I thought was hysterical," he said.
Mr Kelly is best known as a comedy actor but has also taken on more serious roles such as that of Callum Finnegan in Brookside.
