Strawberries and cream Wimbledon socks
Published: 29th June 2010
Tennis champ Serena Williams struck an elegant balance of classic styling with a modern twist of strawberries and cream on court at Wimbledon yesterday (June 28th).
Multiple-grand slam winning tennis star Williams wore a pair of strawberries and cream inspired socks and dress for her meeting with noisy rival Maria Sharapova.
Her white sports socks boasted some red strawberry pompoms, which completed her Wimbledon-inspired ensemble.
Sharapova meanwhile looked chic in all-white dress and short white pop socks.
The Wimbledon crowd is not unaccustomed to seeing a few interesting fashion statements, though the rule of wearing predominantly white checks some of the more outrageous examples.
At the recent French Open in Paris, Bethanie Mattek-Sands took to the clay of Roland Garros in pair of knee-high black socks, a black skirt and a pink top.
