Bejewelled tights are 'new take on jewellery'

Bejewelled tights are 'new take on jewellery'
Despite many people owning tights as a winter necessity for both warmth and fashion, a new style is going one step further: bejewelled tights.

Leah Southers of Pierce Mattie PR said the new trend hitting the catwalks of legwear with beads and precious stones is really taking off.

However, she was quick to point out the style was far from practical, particularly given her standing as a "notorious tights ripper".

She continued: "What if some of the rhinestones fell off? I can't bear to imagine it. They're too beautiful to wear to a club. A nice dinner, maybe. I'd be content to wear them around the house, honestly. Better safe than sorry."

Last week, Elle magazine highlighted the popularity of ripped legwear, noting that stars such as Mischa Barton and Lindsay Lohan were big fans.
