Socks are a 'lifelong necessity'

Socks are a necessity in life and work, according to an American columnist.
Writing for Canyon News, James F Brown said that despite the bonuses that socks bring in terms of protection from abrasions, chafing and blistering, they are best applied as a tool for the professional wardrobe.
Sticking to darker hues with work socks is the best way, he reasons, adding that cotton is the best option to help wick moisture out from the foot.
Mr Brown also highlighted the need to buy them in similar colours, stating: "Somehow, washers and dryers eat socks, but only one of any pair. Sticking with plain, solid socks saves me much anguish.
"Socks are consumable items that need regular replacement."
One man who doesn't need any help matching his socks anymore is Ron, a patient who has recently had a bionic eye fitted which has allowed him to sort through his legwear, among other more pressing things.
