Socks will 'never lose life' after post-feet application
Socks are a commodity to a person long after they are worn out, it has been stated. Kathryn McHolm of Northumberland Today spoke of the need for people to consider fixing their socks when holes appear whether they are fully at home with the concept of mending clothes.

If not, however, she recommends that people use them for another application, such as a hand puppet or cutting many into strips to aid with rug hooking, crocheting and braiding.

People in Quebec even used washed woollen socks as coffee filters in more economically harsh times, Ms McHolm added.

She continued: "The hat I'm wearing ... has a former sock as the medallion. However, if you're not blessed with nimble fingers and a creative bend, old socks make really good dusters!"

One of the most famous sock puppets, the Sock Monkey, has just been celebrated in a festival in Rockford this weekend, with the Nelson Knitting Company of Rockford inventing the creature during the Great Depression of the 1930s.
