Humans defends themselves from zombie marauders with socks

Humans defends themselves from zombie marauders with socks
After a temporary ban last December saw the undead roam for a little longer in Colorado, the war will resume this week on the campus of the state's main college.

At the end of last year, the University of Colorado (CU) banned Nerf guns for use in a game of Humans vs Zombies, mainly due to the fact campus police might mistake the brightly-coloured plastic toys for real weapons.

So what did the students do? Resume their battle as of this week, starting on March 1st and using socks as weapons to keep away the walking dead.

The group of students has agreed to play during daylight hours - between 08:00 and 18:00 - though that's mainly due to the ice on the ground, making it as safe as possible.

George A Romero, the undisputable king of zombie movies, has had his 1973 film The Crazies remade, with the film gaining general release at the end of last month.
