Olympic snowboarder shows off threadbare lucky socks
Jasey Jay Anderson, a 34-year-old snowboarder from Canada, has recently celebrated winning gold at the Winter Olympics and in style, too, showing off the one possession he wears to stay lucky on the slopes.

Reuters revealed that the best of the best, who competed for and won the top award for the parallel giant slalom in Vancouver in February, showed off his ten-year-old socks to the public at a recent press conference, stating that there was likely nothing worse than being a sock.

His feet, which had the threadbare, discoloured knee-high socks on show, drew laughter from the media, with Anderson explaining: "They've gone through exactly everything I have gone through, except they can't see anything.

"I wore them today purely for nostalgic reasons because I am honestly going to retire them. I am sure they are just begging me to retire them."

Anderson qualified in tenth and passed former Turin Olympic medallist Simon Schoch on his way to claiming the title, which was held at Cypress Mountain on February 27th.
