Opaque tights are 'a bit heavy' for spring
Published: 10th March 2010
Women are rightly turning away from black opaque options for the legs in the current climate and are instead opting for more relaxed, lighter offerings - and if they aren't, they should be, an expert has said.
Responding to an unnamed fashionista who identified the sunny weather that is "on the verge of spring but still chilly", Holly Thomas of the Washington Post discussed the leg looks that are appropriate for the transitional weather
She said that she is tiring of her black opaque tights and has instead been "switching it up and trying out dark charcoal, light sheer gray and navy options".
Ms Thomas added: "Patterns, Swiss dots and lace feel a bit more fresh, and if you've looked at any spring catalogs lately, you'll see a lot of dainty socks paired with heels and oxfords."
Grazia seems to agree with this; it stopped Jordana Armitage, a 23-year-old Londoner, for taking the "bold step" from black opaque tights to something lighter, brighter and more friendly for spring: cream lace tights.
