Single socks 'can be transformed into children's puppets'

Single socks 'can be transformed into children's puppets'
Rather than being frustrated when one goes missing, parents can actually embrace the opportunities that can be created when a sock is lost.

The Disney Familyfun Magazine has highlighted the fact that it is easy to transform a lone sock into a fun bunny beanbag.

All a parent has to do is use a spoon to transfer some dried lentils into a child's sock until it just passes the heel, it suggests.

After this is sealed with a rubber band, a ribbon can be tied just beneath the heel and the sock's cuff can be transformed into two ears with some cutting, it added.

The magazine said that felt features can be attached using tacky glue to complete a face.

It stated: "Until we figure out where missing socks actually go when they vanish from our laundry baskets, here's a way to get some use from the singleton left behind."

Another way of disposing of old socks was recently showcased by a number of stars, who donated their former pairs to a museum in a bid to boost visitor numbers.

Tennis star Andy Murray, Formula One champion Jenson Button and Maureen Lipman all donated to the Ruddington Framework Knitters' Museum, the Nottingham Evening Post reported.
