Charity socks it to dogs
Published: 28th November 2008
A charity is calling on all canine lovers to pull their socks up and raise money for charity - by investing in its snazzy yellow socks.
Selling the legwear through its partner SockShop , the charity said in its blog that it is a fantastic stocking filler and a sure-fire way to stand out from the crowd.
The socks are available in two varieties - a £2 standard pair and longer, thicker boot socks at £5, with 25 per cent of proceeds going to the animal charity.
Dogs Trust said: "Thanks solely to the generosity of our supporters, since Dogs Trust receives no government funding, we were able to help over 16,000 dogs last year.
"So your little bit of Christmas giving fun would also translate into some happily wagging tails."
Last week, it was announced that Girls Aloud would be at the forefront of a new Dogs Trust initiative which teaches children about the importance of taking care of man's best friend.
