Janine Butcher gives Corrie a run for its hosiery money

It seems like the war between flagship soaps is continuing in the UK, with Eastenders looking to step up its game in a saucy way to win over passing fans looking for more raciness in their teatime action.
Janine Butcher, the notorious character played by Charlie Brooks, is to don stockings and suspenders as a way of winning over her flatmate Ryan Malloy, with the actress giving her on-screen partner a surprise as she walks in with a black anorak.
However, underneath it all is a red corset to match the sassy hosiery and black knee-high boots.
Commenting on her role, 28-year-old Charlie said: "They told me to expect Janine to be naughtier than ever and she really doesn't disappoint. The stuff with Ryan has been great to act. I love that she uses her sexuality to wrap him round her little finger."
Many will see the scene as a stunt to counteract the appearance of Helen Flanagan in her role of Rosie Webster in Coronation Street, with the young actress wearing suspenders and stockings along with black lingerie to impress on-screen bad guy Tony Gordon.
