Printed hosiery 'needs plain accompaniment'
Published: 18th November 2009
Fashionistas across the country will be looking for the best way to address the new season, with one leading clothing expert highlighting the key trends, particularly in the world of legwear.
Eilidh MacAskill, the editor at InStyle, explained that the sequin frock is a huge trend which is coming back, with the best offerings coming with short hemlines and long sleeves to balance the glam factor with exposure.
Women not wanting to go all-out with this approach may want to turn away from the dress and instead go for a sequinned t-shirt instead, she continued.
However, in terms of patterns, Ms MacAskill asserted: "Animal prints are reasonably strong but beware [of] looking too tacky - opt for a discrete print that fades into the background. There is also a big trend towards patterned hosiery but do make sure your dress is plain."
It follows advice from Toni Jones of the Sun, who said that super shoulders are a great option for women to slim their hips, while soft sequins hide a lady's lumps and bumps.
