SockShop applauded for rumba-style tights
Published: 23rd November 2009
Fashionistas have been given a definitive style tip this month: to embrace as many prints and embellishments that are available for their legs this season, whether it is via tights, leggings or socks.
Hilary Alexander, the fashion director at the Daily Telegraph, said that Fearne Cotton, Jasmine Guinness and Diane Kruger are particular proponents of such legwear.
However, it is one source much closer to home that women may want to turn to for one pair in particular: none other than SockShop.
She explained that "SockShop's Strictly Come Dancing-inspired rumba tights in sheer black, with diamante detail on the back seams, at £5 a pair" are an absolute bargain for women hoping to make a statement any time soon.
And with styles including "tattoos, tartan, flowers, spots and dots, lace, ribbons, crystals, beading, embroidery, graphics" and the like hitting the market, Ms Alexander added that there is "no end to the prints and embellishment available" when keeping legs warm this winter.
Earlier this month, the Scotsman revealed that Glenmuir, which is part of the Ruia Group alongside SockShop, will become the European distributor for Sunderland of Scotland in January and will take over sales, marketing and distribution activities, improving annual turnover.
