Flintoff needed sock assistance during bad days

Being on the England cricket team is an honour one player would do anything to maintain - even if it meant that his wife had to put his socks on for him.
Speaking candidly about his experiences as a player, Andrew "Freddie" Flintoff told the Guardian that he was so badly injured on certain days that he couldn't even get dressed when he got out of bed, instead requiring his doting partner Rachael to do the work for him.
He told the newspaper: "Some mornings the missus had to get me out of bed and put my shoes and socks on for me. You then get the anti-inflammatories inside you, and a painkiller, and off you go."
However, Freddie shows no remorse for his actions in the face of poor physical health, noting that he's had six operations in four-and-a-half years, with the most part of it spent rehabilitating the problems that he's had since the age of 13.
"So it's some achievement," he proudly claimed.
Flintoff's last game was spent beating the Australian side in the last Ashes test, regaining the trophy from rivals after a whitewash 5-0 defeat at the hands of the Antipodeans only two years earlier.
