Men's underwear could be used to 'fight the flab'

Men's underwear could be used to 'fight the flab'
Men are not exactly known for their interest in slimming or supporting clothes when compared to their female counterparts, yet many companies are disguising such ideas.

That is because such things as body-shaping men's underwear are still very popular with many people, so much so that the market is directing itself at this target audience, according to the Wall Street Journal's Cheryl Lu-Lien Tan.

However, a girdle is said to be the last thing on their mind.

She said: "While men's underwear makers go out of their way to avoid the 'G-word', a growing number of labels are launching elasticised 'shapewear', 'bodywear', 'support boxers' and other beer-belly-constricting undergarments for men.

"Men are starting to ease into the idea."

One man modelling fancy and fashionable men's underwear this season is Cristiano Ronaldo, who has recently signed a contract with Emporio Armani after the fashion house parted company with David Beckham.
