Sock theft is neither trick nor treat

A female shoplifter has made off with a questionable haul in Nebraska this week, with three people currently being searched for after a notably strange crime.
The trio entered a general store in the state's Omaha and zipped over to the Halloween section, with the group stealing ten pairs of the holiday-themed socks before someone tried to step in and arrest one with handcuffs.
As this was happening, the male perpetrator told the employee to get off his female accomplice, clearly stating "I'll blast you", before the worker relented and allowed the triple threat to walk away with their 20-sock haul.
The criminals have had their licence plate traced and are known to police, though it may never be known why ten pairs of Halloween socks are worth risking serious jail time over.
Details are unknown as to the decoration of the socks. There may be witches, skeletons of pumpkins on them though, in case any eagle-eyed citizens in the Nebraska area are hoping to haul them into the police station.
Another notorious thief of socks is Bo Obama, president Barack's dog, who has regularly been found with one of his owner's socks in his mouth, according to front-line Associated Press coverage.
