Tights and leggings 'flatter the legs'
Published: 15th September 2009
Rich tones are in when it comes to clothes this month, one expert believes.
Speaking to the Irish Independent, Courtney Smith, a stylist who regularly appears on Ireland AM, proclaimed her love for bold colours this winter, noting that loads of designers are going for bright and cheerful hues in their clothing lines this season.
She explained that one of the best looks is that achieved with the addition of leather, studding and very bold tights, as otherwise the look could generally look "prissy".
Ms Smith was quite forthcoming with her views on hosiery overall, highlighting the great things they can do for a girl's figure.
The expert continued: "I love all the high, high shoes around. They make your legs look longer, sexier and go on forever. I prefer tights to leggings for the same reasons - legs are flattered by the uninterrupted line."
Bold hosiery was a recent asset of Kirsten Dunst, who posed for a video this month in Japan in a crazy-coloured outfit including gingham-patterned knee-high socks.
