Tights are 'everything' this season
Published: 23rd September 2009
Most people may associate wearing tights on a regular basis with the cold, dark winter months now the summer has died out, even though it didn't seem to be there in the first place.
Still, donning hosiery this winter looks like it'll be the easiest thing to do in the world, if Paula Cocozza of the Guardian is to have her comments observed; after all, the catwalks are jam-packed with legwear.
Why? Because everyone thinks it's awesome.
Ms Cocozza said: "This year tights are not just tights.
"They are a fashion story and nay-saying just won't do. At the catwalk shows for autumn/winter, they stalked the runway bejewelled, spotted, chequered, swirly, striped and 'laddered'."
She added that this lattermost trend of laddering tights has been exhibited by Scarlett Johansson and Kate Moss in promotions for Mango and Topshop respectively.
Fans of Scarlett Johansson may be interested to know that she was asked by Pete Yorn to collaborate on the recently-released album Break Up, with the actress recording it in the style of Brigitte Bardot for retro value.
