Can patterned tights create a unique style?
Women over the age of 50 should not be afraid to create their own style and must definitely not be a slave to fashion, one lifestyle expert has claimed.

According to FabafterFifty.com editor Ceri Wheeldon, women of a certain age can make themselves look younger by "injecting some colour and trendy accessories".

Patterned tights may be one way of achieving this, as can colourful striped socks.

Ms Wheeldon added: "Invest in some well-tailored pieces that fit really well and are a flattering cut. Accessories are a great way of adding style and drama to an outfit."

She went on to say that a three-quarter sleeve length is the most flattering, especially for women who are starting to bulge around the waist.

Her comments on older women's style come after designer Giles Deacon used 71-year-old model Veruschka in his London Fashion Week show recently.
