The Scarf Company Behind the Fraas brand is a company with nearly 130 years of history: V. Fraas. This family business has always successfully combined tradition with innovation. Today, V. Fraas is the market leader in the manufacture of textile accessories. About V. Fraas In 1880 Valentin Fraas founded the company V. Fraas in Wüstenselbitz, a small village in Upper Franconia, and started to produce scarves, headscarves, shawls and tartan travelling rugs. In 1994 the V.Fraas company employs around 100 employees and is taken over by Christian Fraas, founder Valentin’s son. During the 1950s and 1960s Fraas was under the management of the third generation of Fraas, Arther Fraas, Cristian’s son. He continued the expansion of the company by building the first factory building in Wüstenselbitz and forged their first international connections. During the 1970s production capacity is expanded. The 1980s saw Dr. Robert Schmidt, Arthur Fraas' son-in-law, take over the leadership of the company. Growing further in 1982, V. Fraas becomes an international manufacturer and supplier of textile accessories. Branch offices are opened in New York, Toronto, London and Hong Kong.
