Glenmuir Brand Guide
|
Since 1891 Glenmuir has established a position as one of golf's most prestigious and successful golf and leisurewear brands, with everyone from Europe's Ryder Cup elite, to club members around the world sporting the Glenmuir golf brand. Glenmuir, synonymous with quality, finds itself at the heart of the game of golf and are just as passionate about their clothing as they were when they were established over a century ago. Scottish brand Glenmuir begun in 1891 when local businessman, Andrew MacDougall, opened a hosiery factory in the small village of Kirkfieldbank near Lanark, in the Clyde Valley. Mr. MacDougall was the inventor of a new power-driven machine that greatly simplified the design and manufacture of fancy golf hose. It is believed that his first workforce started with 5 women, all of whom were named Mary. Glenmuir moved into a new factory on Delves Road in Lanark before the turn of the century, which later had to be extended due to the expansion of the successful business. This Lanark location remains the Glenmuir headquarters today. From its beginnings as a hosiery and knitwear factory with the 5 Mary’s and Mr. MacDougall , the company’s Lanark site has developed over the years to provide a highly efficient club, corporate, and event embroidery programme, which has been hallmark of Glenmuir’s success. Marketing and design, customer service and administration and, crucially, graphics and embroidery are all controlled under one roof, to maintain standards of quality and service. Tee off with confidence in a pair of Glenmuir golf socks. |
