Spring/summer faves

Seriously, can winter just bore off already? Alright we get it – it’s cold, it’s wet, there are shorter days and longer nights. But we’re heading to the final straights of February and we need to see that there is light at the end of the tunnel!

So to give the winter blues a kick in the backside once and for all I’ve decided to look ahead to he loveliness of spring, specifically the gorgeous new spring/summer items that are available at SOCKSHOP. I’ve also asked members of the team to pick out their faves from the latest ranges to go on sale.

These butterfly tights from Jonathan Aston are the cutest thing I’ve seen since I watched that video of the kitten doing that hilarious and adorable thing on YouTube (you know the one, right?) Anyway, they’re gorgeous, and a perfect accompaniment to any spring outfit. I think I would opt for the nude version, as the butterflies really pop out against the neutral colour of the tights.

The new Falke running shorts are pretty awesome. They’ve been designed and made so that the wearer hardly notices them, allowing them to focus on the job of training and exercising. Some other high-tec gadgetry used to make these shorts include an open mesh for ventilation and materials which which is fast-drying.  Basically, if you need new gear to train in this spring, this is what I'd recommend.

If I was going to choose any item from the spring/summer new arrivals, it would be the Elle pin stripe & patterned cotton trainer socks. They are really cute, and the nice springy colours are bright enough to cheer up the dreariest days. I would definitely wear these with a pair of summery pumps, just as soon as the weather allows me to ditch the ankle boots!

A vertical stripe, crazy right? That’s what I like about these Falke socks, they’re a bit different from the more common stripe socks you see, but are pretty smart and stylish. Basically, if you are looking for something a bit more original, but don’t want to wear anything novelty – I’d recommend these! Personally I’d wear the black mix colour; I’m rarely out of black and think the colours are a bit more subtle, but that’s just me.
