Autumn fashion scene will 'embrace fishnets and stockings'
Plenty of women hope to get ahead of the popular trends in the workplace, on the street and on a night out, so it stands to reason that any advice in advance will likely have many necks craning.

So the Southern Courier is providing a great service, then, by letting women know that yet again, it's hosiery to the rescue during the autumn of 2010.

"Autumn is about layering and keeping warm," the newspaper explained. "Stockings, fishnets, opaques and printed tights spice up your outfit and keep you on trend."

Additionally, it was happy to provide a bit more information on shoes, explaining: "A closed-toe shoe is appropriate and better with stockings or tights."

However, the piece added that thicker heels will allow a person to navigate the wetter conditions, while ankle boots provide a "fashionable alternative".

Luke Leitch of the Times recently explained that the 80s look of patterned tights comes with "one irrefutable truth": that patterned tights make all but the longest, thinnest and lankiest legs look like those of a "galumphing elephant".
