Sarah Brown is usually known for accompanying her prime ministerial husband in style, yet this week she has been criticised for a poor matching-up of red wedge heels with navy tights
The summery peep-toe slingbacks with a cork-style finish on the heels were seen as nice enough by OK! Magazine... just not with the legwear
-based ensemble she chose.
Ms Brown chose "dowdy" opaque tights
which meant that the bright footwear instead looked "as though she [was] wearing a couple of buses on her feet".
OK! Magazine concluded: "These peep-toe cork wedges from Office are crying out for a summery halterneck A-line dress or some 50s-style high-waisted shorts and sunkissed legs."
However, the notably left-wing Daily Mirror instead praised her for the choice of shoes, noting that the "trendy" investment was a nod to the 1987 general election when Billy Bragg raised money for the Labour Party under the Red Wedge banner.Want a pair of Stockings
