Fishnet tight performance not too sexy, says Ofcom
Ofcom has announced this week that, despite a large number of complaints, the celebrity performances from last year's X Factor final were appropriate.

The dance routines included a burlesque performance by Christina Aguilera featuring backing dancers wearing fishnet tights, as well as a raunchy performance by Rihanna.

Some 2,800 viewers complained that the final show was too sexually explicit to be seen by children, and aired before the watershed of 21:00 BST.

The regulator Ofcom has claimed that the show was "at the very margin of acceptability for broadcast before the 21:00 BST watershed."

ITV claimed that the Aguilera performance was appropriate as it was promoting the singer's new film Burlesque.

Christina and her dancers wore fishnet tights, corsets and silk underwear while performing seductive dance sequences live in December 2010.
