Bras have been named as the second most import thing to revolutionise women's lives over the past 100 years.
In a survey from Clearblue Plus, women in the UK and Europe cited the contraceptive pill as the most life-changing item, followed by the supportive underwear
Other top things included the washing machine, tampons and pregnancy tests.
Some 91 per cent of all women questioned also said that all of the items had been hugely influential on their lives.
Christine Webber, psychotherapist and women's issues expert, claimed that the list highlights differences between the generations.
Older women were more likely to choose the washing machine as being revolutionary, whereas she said younger people will look for products to make their lives easier, "like the bra, which has been designed and shaped for women of all shapes and sizes".
Also featuring on the top ten list are jeans, contact lenses and mascara.
