Bip Ling wears over the knee socks

Over the past few years Bip Ling has taken the world by storm.

What with her good looks, humour and general cool creative flair, it's no wonder that the blogger-come-DJ now models and is moving in circles with fellow big name bloggers, models and celebrities alike.

This week the multi-talented 23-year-old was spotted at the Florence and Fred fashion show in a typically individual look.

She injected colour with a purple and blue skirt which she styled with a Chanel sweatshirt and ELLE black over the knee socks.

Her love of fashion began at an early age as her parents work in the industry. Her fashion illustrator mother, Tanya Ling, has worked with Vogue while her father, William Ling, owns the Fashion Illustration Gallery in London.

The Florence and Fred fashion show also saw fashionistas Peaches Geldof and Millie Macintosh amongst other celebrity guests.

Do you own 17 pairs of socks?

Do you own 17 pairs of socks?

Looking through the average person's chest of drawers, you can expect to find 17 pairs of socks and 18 pairs of underwear, if a recent survey is to be believed.

The results, found by Cotton USA Global Lifestyle Monitor (GLM), showed that Britons actually fall behind their European counterparts on several clothing items.

Despite Britons owning three extra pairs of underwear since the survey was last conducted two years ago, the Germans hold the title of owning the most - on average 23 pairs of underwear and 24 pairs of socks.

We also fall behind the Italians when it came to suits and bras, with British men typically owning 1.4 suits and the average woman laying claim to nine bras, compared to the Italian average of three suits and 12 bras.

The survey revealed that - while we own on average of 11 clothing items less than in 2012 - 61% claim to donate unused clothing to charities.

Cotton USA spokeswoman Stephanie Thiers-Ratcliffe said: "The GLM report always brings some interesting and sometimes surprising results, giving lots to talk about when it comes to the different clothing habits of European countries."

Ipsos surveyed 5,000 people aged 15-54 in February and March this year.

Model Amy Willerton has swapped her usual red carpet glam for a more sporty get-up this week.

The blonde beauty has been spotted training in Richmond Park with her personal trainer ahead of Sunday's London Marathon.

Proving she is serious about the gargantuan run, she wore cropped lycra leggings, a sports jacket finished off with ELLE trainer socks and trainers.

With just a couple of days left to train, Amy is packing in some last minute sessions before taking on the challenge with her dad, Bruce. As this will be Amy's first long distance run, her aim is to simply finish it rather than setting herself a time to complete it in.

Amy and Bruce are doing the marathon in aid of the Chickenshed charity, a youth theatre company.

The 34th annual London Marathon will take place on Sunday with coverage on BBC1 from 8:30am.

Head gear proves festival staple

Head gear proves festival staple

Coachella festival has been and gone for another year, introducing a multitude of fashions along the way.

Celebrities and members of the public alike turned up over two weekends for fun and frivolity in the American sun.

Head gear seemed to be a key feature at this year's festival with beanies, bandanas, berets and bowler hats being some of the best.

With a lot of the talk revolving around fashion, it's hard to believe there was time for music.

However, Pharrell Williams and T.I. took their hats to the stage for their performance over the second weekend.

Pharrell wore one of his trademark camel coloured hats while T.I. opted for a snap back cap.

Many fashion conscious music lovers will be spying the fashion trends to wear later on in the year at UK festivals such as Glastonbury and V Festival.

Frilly socks for Neon Jungle girl

Four-piece girl band Neon Jungle attended the premiere of The Amazing SpiderMan 2 last week.

The group are relatively new to the pop scene but within a year they have earned two UK top 20 hits - with Braveheart taking them to number four, and Trouble coming in at 12.

And they proved at the premiere they don't just want to be known for their musical ability - but for their fashion sense too.

They made their mark on the red carpet, wearing a mixture of pastels, brights, chains, and studs between them - though it was 18-year-old Asami Zdrenka who took most of the attention.

With her blue hair, floral two-piece, yellow heels and white dolly socks, she made sure all eyes were on her.

Other guests included Jonathan Ross and TOWIE cast members Ricky Rayment, Jess Wright, Charlie Sims and Ferne McCann.
