A new study has highlighted the fashion faux pas women hate in their partners.
Some 37 per cent of female respondents in the isme.com survey said that they buy all of their other half's clothes, with nearly two-thirds having to prevent them from buying certain garments.
Some 16 per cent said that it was their partner's old-fashioned, discoloured and ill-fitting underwear
than drove them to reinvent his wardrobe, with almost a fifth of ladies claiming it was their dodgy denim.
The poll found that 37 is the average age at which men stop caring about their appearance, but women are keen to slow this development by lending a helping hand when it comes to wardrobe choices.
Other most hated items include Speedos, bright floral shirts, hoodies and socks with sandals, according to the online retailer's survey.
Women revealed they would prefer their men to mimic the styles of Hugh Grant and George Clooney, but felt they actually resembled Jeremy Clarkson and Alan Titchmarsh.
