Knee socks 'great investment', says expert

Knee socks 'great investment', says expert
A fashion expert on Stylebistro has offered advice on how to pull off tricky leg wear this season.

A fashion staple at the moment, the versatility and practicality of over the knee socks make them a smart investment, says the expert.

The length of the socks, the article advises, must be judged on your outfit, silhouette and thickness of your legs.

If you choose a very long pair, for example, then your skirt must be short enough to show the socks in their entirety.

For winter, wearing socks made from wool and cashmere is advisable as these are the warmest and will keep you cosy in cold weather.

Over the knee socks go with most outfits, according to the author who suggests teaming them with denim shorts or a short dress for a winter look, or a tunic for an effortless urban feel.

After being such a hit on the catwalks this season, over the knee socks make great gifts for Christmas as fun fashionable stocking fillers.

Jamie Lynn Spears sports sis' sporty sock look

Jamie Lynn Spears sports sis' sporty sock look
Jamie Lynn Spears, the sister of pop sensation Britney, has been spotted out and about sporting a very similar look to her sibling, right down to the footwear.

The 19-year-old wore a pair of long gym socks and shorts while visiting a friend's in Louisiana, the Daily Mail reports.

Comparing the two side-by-side, the newspaper showed Britney in a similar ensemble, with knee-high yellow socks accompanied by black trainers, although on this occasion her sister completed the look with fluffy moon boots.

According to the US magazine Star, Jamie Lynn Spears recently called an end to her relationship with Casey Aldridge, the father of her child, saying she was fed up with his "immature behaviour".

"She thought he'd changed - that's why she got back together with him," a source told the magazine.

"But he's still the same old guy."

Britney Spears celebrates her 29th birthday today (December 2nd).

Princess Beatrice braves snow in black tights

Princess Beatrice braves snow in black tights
Princess Beatrice braved arctic weather conditions to attend a charity event last night.

The princess wrapped up warm for the event in a stylish double-breasted black coat that incorporated an on-trend A-line skirt.

She also opted for black tights to keep her legs toasty in the freezing weather, which she combined with high black shoes and a black clutch for a classy look.

Beatrice, 22, was attending the Dickensian ball hosted by prime minister's wife Samantha Cameron, who also donned black tights to keep warm on the wintry red carpet.

The ball, which was to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital took place at high-end department store Harrods, which created a Dickensian fantasy for the event, including a winter market scene complete with falling snow.

It also included a three-course meal and a live performance by Beverly Knight.

Princess Beatrice hit headlines this year for rapidly losing weight thanks to rigorous training for the Windsor half-marathon in September.Browse Christmas Socks... Step Out with Funky, Festive Feet!

Wear tights for a fashionable winter look, says expert

Wear tights for a fashionable winter look, says expert
With the weather getting colder as we enter December, fashion lovers are trying to combine the stylish with the practical to keep warm and look good.

One fashion writer for rocnow.com says that wearing tights is the best way to achieve a fashionable winter look.

Stephanie Veale says that tights can be dressed up or down as they come in a variety of different colours, patterns and styles.

Eggplant purple and dark forest green are two colours that have become firm favourites this season, she said, with many people teaming the purple tights with a black tunic.

Boots, both practical and fashionable, are the obvious choice this season when it comes to footwear to go with tights.

Some are opting for thigh-high boots at the moment but knee-high, mid-calf and ankle boots are very popular.

Tights make great gifts for Christmas this year - consider them as a stocking filler for wives and girlfriends.

Paris Hilton wears black tights for sophisticated look

Paris Hilton wears black tights for sophisticated look
It-girl Paris Hilton looked surprisingly sophisticated going for a romantic lunch with her boyfriend yesterday, reports say.

The hotel-chain heiress was out with Cy Waits in Los Angeles on the way to the super exclusive restaurant chain the Ivy, reports the Daily Mail.

Paris certainly looked the part, ditching her usually tacky outfits for a more sophisticated ensemble.

She paired a grey cutaway top with a black puffball skirt, dark heels and covered her legs with black tights, accessorising with a Chanel necklace, oversized sunglasses and a bow belt round her waist.

After the meal, Paris and Cy went shopping looking for gifts for Christmas.

This comes after Princess Beatrice chose to keep warm in black tights on the chilly red carpet at a charity event.

Attending the Dickensian ball at Harrods in London, she opted for a double breasted black coat in an on-trend A-line shape with black tights and high shoes.

The Sock Report: Retailers lag when it comes to mobile shopping

The Sock Report: Retailers lag when it comes to mobile shopping
Mobile and digital communications company Mobile Interactive Group (MIG) has been finding out how easy it is for shoppers to purchase that most beloved of Christmas presents - a pair of socks - using a mobile device.

The MIG Sock Report tested 57 retailers on their m-commerce capabilities, finding that only 16 had a mobile application and just nine of these are able to process a transaction.

Overall, less than one-quarter (23 per cent) allowed customers to find and buy a pair of socks through their mobile phones and just four retailers had an optimised transactional site.

Ben Cusack, group marketing director for MIG, said m-commerce has become a "huge opportunity" for the retail sector as consumers seek to buy at a time and place that is convenient for them.

"The Sock Report clearly demonstrates that the fashion subset of the retail sector is lagging behind somewhat," he commented.

Apparently, socks are high on Canadian heartthrob Michael Buble's wish list this Christmas, which the singer revealed in a recent interview with the Chicago Sun-Times.

Funky tights 'expand possibilities for winter outfits'

Funky tights 'expand possibilities for winter outfits'
Bold footwear is the perfect way to liven up any winter outfit and go beyond the norm to something that really makes a statement, one blogger has said.

Writing for College Fashionista, Venice Fahey of San Diego State University said funky tights can completely transform a simple dress or skirt into the perfect holiday outfit.

Not only do they provide the right amount of warmth on a chilly winter's day, but the wide variety of patterns available mean ladies have nearly endless possibilities with their legwear.

"This Fashionista did an exceptional job creating a unique outfit by throwing a pair of black stripped tights on under her solid gray skirt," she commented.

"But she doesn't stop there. By adding high socks and black patent leather oxfords, this trendsetter makes a bold statement."

Recently, the Daily Mail suggested pairing an animal-print dress with opaque tights and ankle boots to rock the perfect winter look.

Men's socks 'don't have to be dull'

Footwear is the new way for men to express themselves, a journalist has claimed, saying that guys can give girls a run for their money when it comes to funky socks.

Whether stripy, spotty, patterned or plain, socks are "having a moment" according to Richard Godwin, writing for the London Evening Standard.

The fashion for shorter trousers and turning up the leg at the bottom, as well as the current trend for loafers, may have helped men to take a closer look at what they're wearing on their feet, he said.

"One man who appreciates this is Sir Michael Gambon, recent recipient of an Evening Standard award for lifetime achievement in theatre … The Great Gambon realises that a surprising sock betokens flair, wit, even danger," wrote Mr Godwin.

The Harry Potter actor is also looking forward to playing an intergalactic version of Scrooge in this year's Doctor Who Christmas special.

All Buble wants for Christmas is a pair of men's socks

Canadian singer Michael Buble has revealed that he doesn't have great expectations about his gifts this Christmas, disclosing that he would be happy to find a pair of socks in his stockings.

Speaking to the Chicago Sun-Times, the Grammy award-winning songwriter said Christmas is a "time of creating warm feelings", adding that "socks and nice underwear" are all he wants.

"I love putting on a nice pair of new, white, comfy socks," he revealed, adding that he prefers to give than to receive.

However, he dismissed New Year's resolutions as "stupid", adding: "Nobody follows through on them."

Perhaps when he's finished with them, Buble could donate his celebrity men's socks to Deborah Walsh in the US, who is on a mission to collect footwear for soldiers serving overseas.

Speaking to wmtw.com, she described her experiences setting up Socks for Soldiers which has attracted donations from people all over the world.

Women should avoid 'Suri Cruise effect'

Women should avoid wearing all the warm winter trends at once or they could end up being subject to the 'Suri Cruise' effect, according to one expert.

Guardian life and style writer Hadley Freeman advised that women wear thick woolly tights with casual jackets to avoid a childlike look.

According to the fashion expert, wearing winter tights with a princess coat, mittens and long scarves can leave the usually-chic looking like Hollywood's most on-trend toddler.

She advises pairing a princess jacket with jeans and trainers rather than tights and long scarves and adds that mittens should be avoided at all costs.

Meanwhile, Writing for College Fashionista, Venice Fahey of San Diego State University has said that funky tights can expand a simple outfit's possibilities this Christmas.

As well as providing warmth on a frosty winter day, they are available in a wide variety of patterns, enabling women to transform outfits cheaply and look great.

How to funkify your ladies tights with rhinestones

Rocking the rhinestone look on legwear is very on-trend right now, one blogger has said, providing her own tips to help ladies customise their own funky tights to sport the accessories.

Writing for BlogHer.com, ShiftC said you'll just need some tights and thread of the same colour, a metallic pen and of course some flat back sew-on rhinestones.

Begin by pulling on your tights and lightly mark where the stones will go with the pen, then remove them again, put your hand in one leg and pull the thread underneath the tights and through one of the silver marks.

Pull the thread through first one hole of a rhinestone, then the other, and repeat as often as necessary to create little "clusters" of stones.

"Once you have the rhinestones the way you want them turn the leg of the tights inside out, knot the thread, and then cut the thread slightly above the knot," the blogger added.

This look might go well with lacy tights, which are the latest celebrity trend according to ShinyStyle.tv.

Old socks to adorn Christmas tree

Festive decorators are planning to adorn Christmas trees with unusual items at a seasonal festival in Dartington, South Devon this year.

Old socks are to be used as a Christmas tree decoration along with other out-of-the-ordinary festive ornaments, to highlight Dartington's work in the arts, social justice and sustainability.

Dartington's first Christmas Tree Festival will feature twelve trees, each decorated by a local community group.

Bob Greig of Only Dads told the People's Republic of South Devon: "We are decorating our tree with socks – they're the sort of thing everyone has odd ones of at home and we'll be giving them a new lease of life.

"We've been asking parents and children to decorate old socks or make new ones and the children will be putting messages inside their socks."

By using old socks as Christmas decorations, the group will no doubt be hoping to receive some new men's Christmas socks this season.

Kate and William make first public appearance together since engagement

Kate and William make first public appearance together since engagement
Kate Middleton and prince William appeared together in public for the first time since their October engagement.

The famous couple attended a charity gala event for the Teenage Cancer Trust and all eyes were on Kate's outfit.

The future princess did not disappoint, looking effortlessly stylish in a black-embellished cream chiffon Temperley dress which she paired with a dark blazer, sheer black tights and court heels.

Fashion website Stylebistro applauded Kate for keeping her wardrobe restrained and approachable in the current economic climate, by wearing her own clothes for public appearances.

The article compares the future bride to Michelle Obama, who is known for mixing designer pieces with mainstream highstreet brands.

With Kate being so influential in the fashion stakes, it is likely that many women will be rushing out to get sheer black tights to get her look.

Tights make stylish stocking fillers this Christmas, with patterns and colours that can add edge to any outfit.

Tights 'appeal to all ages'

Tights 'appeal to all ages'
Three style-obsessed women of very different ages have offered their views on leg wear for those considering investing in the fashion staple, according to one article.

Callie Gordon, a 20-something student, writes in News OK that tights and leggings can be dressed up or down and are a must during the winter.

She adds that socks and heels are a great trend, matching bulky socks with fancy shoes for a fun effect. However, if you are considering knee socks, she says, take into account your age and body type and remember: "you are not Britney Spears".

Lillie-Beth Brinkman, the Oklahoman's assistant features editor, is in her 40s and writes that although the weather is usually warm where she lives, with so many fun patterns and colours, she is eager to begin wearing tights again.

For Helen Ford Wallace, a 60-plus columnist in the Oklahoman, said that textured legwear and tights never went out of style although sometimes a nude coloured stocking is the most flattering choice.

Socks bring Christmas magic to veterans

Socks bring Christmas magic to veterans
Christmas has come early for many military veterans in America thanks to an annual charity event which makes sure they are not forgotten at this time of year.

A team of magic elves visited seven nursing homes in Montana, delivering socks full of Christmas goodies to veterans, providing the only interaction some older people will experience.

This is the third annual Santa Socks Deliveries, which is hosted by the United Veterans Council, with the elves coming from the American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries.

Head elf Susan Reneau or 'Santa Baby' spoke to KPAX news about the good the service does.

"It's such a simple thing. All we do is hand them a sock and give them a kiss and I thought it was hilarious that one of my veterans refused to have Santa Claus kiss him but he wanted me to kiss him," she said.

This comes after festive decorators adorned a tree in South Devon with socks this year to highlight the cause of charity Only Dads.

UBS dictates employee's socks

UBS dictates employee's socks
The UBS bank of Switzerland has issued an extensive 40-page dress code to its employees dictating what they will wear from head to toe.

Male employees of the bank must wear socks in mild block colours, avoiding anything too loud for ultimate professionalism.

These socks must be coupled with lace up shoes, states the guide, which is being piloted at five of its branches.

In addition, they must wear neck ties which complement their facial bone structure - a suggestion sure to baffle a few employees of the bank.

Women's underwear must match their skin tone, their hemlines must be exactly at knee level and exactly seven pieces of jewellery must be worn.

Some may think the organisation has gone too far, with men also being told to trim their fingernails to 1.5 millimetres and women asked to only put on perfume directly after showering.

This comes in an effort to improve standards after the bank received a huge monetary bailout from the government.

The singer wore a revealing off-the-shoulder black dress to the event, which she paired with matching knee-high socks, adding a cheeky edge to the ensemble.

Donna Air, on the other hand, braved freezing temperatures wearing a short white dress but appearing to go without tights.

Jordan's cage fighter husband Alex Reid was also at the bash, but the glamour model herself did not put in an appearance, fuelling rumours of a rocky marriage.

According to the Sun, this is the second party Alex, who was pictured with his arm around Amelle, has gone to alone in just a few days.

Mismatched outfits 'fashionable'

Mismatched outfits 'fashionable'
Clashing colours and patterns are making waves in the fashion world, according to one writer.

Donna Sears who writes the Little Old Woman column for The Leader and the Kalkaskian says that these days, men are probably more on-trend than women, without even trying.

Socks are a great item for a funky mismatched wardrobe, with a myriad of different colours, patterns and lengths available.

Donna cites fashion TV show Project Runway as inspiration for this, where she says that designer contestant Mondo has been very successful on the programme by creating bizarre outfits incorporating stripes, plaids, checks and polka dots - sometimes all in one ensemble.

She adds that fashion magazines are getting in on the mismatch act.

"What you will probably see on that cover is some very young (14-17) skinny minnie striking a pose in a very short striped skirt, lace tights, a plaid blouse (size 2), fake fur vest, and a purse covered with chains."

Taking this advice into account, maybe Pamela Anderson was more on-trend than she appeared when she visited the Tate Gallery Liverpool wearing a thick leopard-print coat, anchor-print tights and thigh high boots.

Ellie Goulding sports androgynous look with a twist

Ellie Goulding sports androgynous look with a twist
Quirky pop star Ellie Goulding opted for an edgy androgynous look at the Burlesque premiere, with leg wear to match.

Copying boyfriend Greg James' look, Ellie sported a white blouse, bow tie and black jacket with high-waisted shorts and unusual suspender tights - although Radio one DJ Greg did not go for matching legwear.

The faux-black tie ensemble has provoked web fashion critics, with sugarscape.com deeming the matching outfits "too sickly sweet".

Christina Aguilera, star of the new film, wore black fishnet tights with a curve-hugging satin dress and a faux fur stole to keep her warm.

The star looked relatively demure for the premiere, compared to her outfit for controversial performance on TV talent show X factor, which saw some say she had gone too far.

According to The Guardian, Ofcom received 2,000 complaints about the singer's raunchy performance on last Saturday's pre-watershed show as well as that of pop sensation Rihanna.

Pamela Anderson wears anchor-print tights

Pamela Anderson wears anchor-print tights
The Tate Gallery Liverpool opened specially for a visit from Pamela Anderson, who is currently in the city as she performs in pantomime Aladdin.

According to the Daily Mail, the ex-Baywatch star spent just a few minutes looking round the gallery, before heading off for some retail therapy.

The actress looked less than cultured in a thick leopard print coat, thigh high books and anchor print tights for the visit.

Pamela is playing Genie of the Lamp in the production, which is on at the Liverpool Empire Theatre, after enjoying a successful run in the pantomime last year in London.

This comes after Star Magazine reported that Pamela's former co-star David Hasslehoff would like to duet with the actress.

"She won't do it because she says she can't sing! And I just say, come on, just rap, all you got to do is just talk," he told the magazine.

'I haven't given up on her. The Hoff and Pamela would be hysterical.'

Tights 'important this Christmas'

Tights 'important this Christmas'
With more snow predicted in the run up to winter, women everywhere will be seeking funky leg wear that keeps them warm but still looks amazing.

Fashion columnist Tyrina Neely writes on thebahamasweekly.com that opaque tights in warm jewel tones such as navy blue, purple and burgundy are a more edgy option to the staple black and will compliment many of the colours already in wardrobes.

To give legs a long, lean look, she says, try wearing shoes and tights in matching colours.

For those feeling daring, says Tyrina, over-the-knee socks are a great on-trend option, with the versatile legwear complimenting a variety of looks from girly to sophisticated.

Over-the-knee sock enthusiasts keen to steer away from a schoolgirl look should try pairing the legwear with cuffed herringbone print shorts and a classic blouse.

Tyrina adds that metallic tights can add a festive sparkle to any outfit, or for those not ready to embrace all out shimmer, grey tights can also work well.

Meanwhile, ShiftC on BlogHer.com has suggested sewing rhinestones onto tights for a glam and economical addition to Christmas wardrobes.

Pair sweater dresses with tights, says expert

Wrapping up warm is essential at this time of year and, according to experts, sweater dresses with leg wear are the perfect way to do so.

Topnews.in claims that woolly knits are a season staple and that the perfect item to add a bit of attitude to a demure sweater dress is a pair of funky tights.

The writer advises everyone but the slimmest women opt for a straight cut or A-line style sweater dress, with thin girls able to pull off a more tailored, figure hugging look.

As well as tights, it says, women can accessorise the outfit with beaded jewellery and embellished belts.

Answering the tricky question of footwear, the article adds that casual boots can dress down an outfit whereas peep toes or strappy stilettos can give it more of an evening look.

Meanwhile Donna Sears, Little Old Woman columnist for The Leader and the Kalkaskian, says that tights can be used to create clashing colours and patterns for an mismatched on-trend look.

Lady Gaga wears fishnet tights, no skirt

Lady Gaga wears fishnet tights, no skirt
With winter tightening its grip in the run up to Christmas, most people are layering up with as many items as they can get their hands on.

Controversial pop singer Lady Gaga has never been one to follow others, however, which could go some way to explaining why she wore fishnet tights and little else, while shopping in icy Paris.

The singer opted for a skin coloured basque-type bodysuit over fishnet tights and a black PVC jacket accessorised with a leather fetish collar. From a distance, viewers could be excused for thinking she was half naked.

Fishnet tights are a great way to add an edge to an outfit, with Christina Aguilera donning a pair at the American Music Awards for a performance of her new single (Express) Burlesque.

Rihanna also wore fishnet tights to the awards, teaming them with a black and white bra, black hotpants and multi-coloured sarong for her performance.

Christina Aguilera and Isla Fisher match in red dress, black tights

Christina Aguilera and Isla Fisher match in red dress, black tights
Christina Aguilera and Isla Fisher have both been spotted in the same D&G red lacy frock on the red carpet, pairing it with black tights.

Isla donned the dress first for the premiere of Burke and Hare in London, accessorising with low denier opaque tights and a black clutch - keeping make up simple.

Christina wore the number in Madrid, to the Burlesque photo call. She vamped up the dress in true Aguilera style, adding a black belt and bright red lipstick and wearing dark black tights.

As a result of the matching outfits - surely every A-lister's fashion nightmare - Heatworld.com are now conducting a poll to find out who wore it best.

Sheer black tights have proved a fashion staple this season - in both high and low denier - with even the future princess of Wales donning the versatile item.

Kate Middleton chose to pair a black-embellished cream chiffon Temperley dress with black tights for her first outing with fiancée prince William since the announcement of their engagement.

School kids collect socks for soldiers

Seasonal charity surrounding foot wear is continuing in the run up to Christmas, as is seen by Gunther Elementary Class, which has collected socks for soldiers.

Bellmore Patch reports that Christine Meaney's class at the school in New York has collected over 100 pairs of socks as part of the Z100 and solidersocks.com Socks for Soldiers drives.

This is part of a What about now? initiative at the school, in which each class must help and support a global community.

"We're collecting the socks because if they don't wear them they can get very sick," Nicholas Bloniarz, student in the class, told the news source.

This comes after an eight-year-old boy from Texas vowed to collect a million socks for soldiers after reading a WWII book.

Tanner Adams, a third grader from Lufkin, has set up a Facebook page called "Socks for Soldiers, Lufkin TX" to aid his campaign.

At what age should people put down the patterned tights?

With patterned, colourful tights now taking over the high street as well as the catwalk, the days of wearing only black tights are long gone.

But does there come an age where women should put down the patterned tights and opt for something more age-appropriate? wonders Lydia Slater, fashion writer for the Daily Mail.

Ms Slater mentions trends such as leopard-print, spots and stripes and pre-ripped tights, saying that anyone over the age of 25 should think carefully before opting for such tights.

For older people she recommends black sheer tights for grown-up glamour and says that looking good is more important than blindly following fashion.

This comes after Lady Gaga, who is luckily just under the age of 25, stunned onlookers in Paris by wearing an outfit that was anything but demure.

The singer opted to wear fishnets and little else while shopping in the chilly city, giving the appearance of being half naked.

Clashing tights and shoes can work, one expert says

Clashing tights and shoes can work, one expert says
One fashion expert has advised fashion conscious women on how to wear coloured leg wear and foot wear without giving off an accidental clown vibe.

Teri Agins, fashion reporter for the Wall Street Journal, writes that the new trend for colourful tights and shoes is just an extension the trend of the past few years of wearing more colours.

She advises that while some can pull off the trend, others should stick to their black tights.

"Contrasting tights draw the eye to your legs, which shouldn't be too thick or muscular, lest you come across as dumpy instead of leggy," she added.

Beware of lacy tights, she continues, as they add visual bulk which can make legs appear wider than they are.

In addition, Ms Agins urges women not to forget that black-on-black remains "snappy, elongating and forever stylish".

Meanwhile, an expert on Topnews.in has said that women should pair tights with a sweater dress for a warm and fashion-forward look this Christmas.

Sparkles and glitter are perfect to bring in New Year 2011 in style, according to fashion experts.

The Sydney Morning Herald advises revellers to don glittery black tights with a black miniskirt or shorts for a party feel.

Add to the look with sparkly eye shadow, mascara or even shimmery bronzer, advises the article.

Party-goers can accessorise with a statement-making necklace or bracelet although the writer advises to stick to just one piece to avoid a cluttered, overdone look.

Wearing a sparkly scarf in colours from black to nude peach is another way to jazz up an outfit. This item can be worn around the neck, waist or, alternatively, as a sash for "simple elegance".

This comes after Teri Agins, fashion reporter for the Wall Street Journal, said that clashing tights and shoes can work as long as they are worn by women who can pull it off - others should stick to black tights, she advises.

Christina Aguilera sets stocking sales soaring

Christina Aguilera sets stocking sales soaring
Christina Aguilera's racy performance in film Burlesque has seen sales of racy leg wear soar, according to reports.

The rising popularity of burlesque, helped by the film and other stars such as Dita Von Teese, has seen a rise in demand for vintage stockings and other lingerie.

However, when Aguilera performed on the X Factor clad in burlesque-style tights and a black dress, the talent show received over 4,000 complaints from viewers to Ofcom.

According to underwear maker Gossard, sales of lingerie products have increased by 65 per cent during 2010.

Gossard's managing director Tony Jarvis said: "There is most definitely a rise in interest in old-school glamour in lingerie, with a modern twist which is encapsulated in this revival."

Meanwhile, The Sydney Morning Herald has advised that women wear sparkly tights this New Years Eve, for a glam start to 2011.

Party-goers could also accessorise with a statement-making piece of jewellery or a sparkly scarf, the article adds.

Ke$ha wears lacy tights as part of unique outfit

Pop singer Ke$ha has landed herself in yet more worst dressed competitions after stepping out in another unique ensemble involving a grey and green fur coat and lacy leg wear.

The celeb paired tiny black leather shorts with the lacy black tights and boots to complete the outfit - which is arguably not one of her worst.

Ke$ha was staying at the same hotel as fellow pop star Nicky Minaj, who has featured alongside her in the Daily Mail, due to an track suit of green velour and a pink furry jacket, accessorising with shades.

Both girls left the hotel on their way to rehearsals for their New Year's Eve performances.

Meanwhile, the Sydney Morning Herald has advised revellers on New Year's Eve to don glittery black tights with a black miniskirt or shorts for a glam party feel.

Additionally, girls can add to the look, says the article, with sparkly eye shadow, mascara or shimmery bronzer.
