At what age should people put down the patterned tights?

Published: 24th December 2010

With patterned, colourful tights now taking over the high street as well as the catwalk, the days of wearing only black tights are long gone.

But does there come an age where women should put down the patterned tights and opt for something more age-appropriate? wonders Lydia Slater, fashion writer for the Daily Mail.

Ms Slater mentions trends such as leopard-print, spots and stripes and pre-ripped tights, saying that anyone over the age of 25 should think carefully before opting for such tights.

For older people she recommends black sheer tights for grown-up glamour and says that looking good is more important than blindly following fashion.

This comes after Lady Gaga, who is luckily just under the age of 25, stunned onlookers in Paris by wearing an outfit that was anything but demure.

The singer opted to wear fishnets and little else while shopping in the chilly city, giving the appearance of being half naked.
